3 Meals Application - Sexual Orientation

3 Meals Campaign: Sexual Orientation

Catalyst and The Center Long Beach have partnered together for our first 3 Meals Campaign: Sexual Orientation. The goal for this campaign is to help inspire empathy and understanding among individuals who identify with 5 sexual orientation types: gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, and asexual. The intent is to approach each other with a desire to become better known and to better understand others without debate, defense, or desire to convert perspectives. This 6 month campaign will consist of the actual 3 Meals Day experience in October 2014, an education period from November 2014 to January 2015 of releasing a series of articles, videos, and resources related to the different sexual orientation types, the public screening of the documentary film of the 3 Meals Day experience in February 2015, and an opportunity for people to sign up for their own Meal experience grouped with others of varying sexual orientations in March 2015.

We are looking for 5 individuals who identify as gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, and asexual who will be the focus of the documentary film and featured on the Q&A panel at the film screening event. These participants will share their personal story and introduce parts of their lives to each other. It can be a vulnerable experience but it is also an opportunity for authenticity and bridge building.

Anyone interested in being a participant can apply for consideration by reading the expectations and completing the application below. Click here to go back to the 3 Meals project page.

Expectations

We are now accepting applications from anyone wishing to participate in our 3 Meals Campaign: Sexual Orientation. The deadline to submit your application is Saturday, July 26, 2014 by midnight.
