The Catalyst Network of Communities

Just as our city has many neighborhoods, we are one organization with many branches that we call "communities" - the Catalyst Network of Communities. This Network consists of collaborative communities that we launch, community groups that we fiscally sponsor, community projects that we spearhead, in addition to collaborative partners throughout the Network.

We empower member-driven communities to connect around shared interests and to affect their neighborhoods in a positive way. We network these communities to share resources and collaborate so that together we can be a catalyst in our city.

Community Projects / Events

The Catalyst Space, Long Beach is a community hub, resource, and learning center. It provides a place for people to broaden their connections and understanding of themselves, our community, and our world. It is a place that empowers catalysts, equips leaders, and resources neighbors and organizations with the means of advancing their goals. As a community of catalysts, this is "our" space.

The HUB Community Center is a space for people to learn about cycling, gardening, health & nutrition, and workforce development. Visitors can repair or maintain their bikes, participate in growing herbs and vegetables in the container garden, or learn about bike safety, nutrition, and exercise.

Dancing with Long Beach is a collaborative project organized by the Catalyst Network of Communities, Datugan Dance Theatre and numerous other community organizations to celebrate the art and diversity of dance in Long Beach by bringing dance into the city in public spaces for seemingly spontaneous dance demonstrations. OutFaith is collaborative campaign that creates dynamic experiences that connect people to the LGBT world of faith - informed, engaged, and above the fray.  We provide a hub of information on all things LGBT-FAITH related and we provide unique experiential opportunities that help people of a variety of perspectives experience understanding for one another.
