Concierge Services


Catalyst is making a call out for anyone interested in becoming a Concierge. What's a concierge you ask? In modern terms, think of it as a person who provides special attention and services to guests (as in a hotel). In our context, Catalyst is building up a team of people who will offer unique one-on-one service to people who want to get connected in our community.

The heart behind this is that often times people express interest in volunteering but they often fall through the cracks either without follow up or our suggestions aren't what they're looking for. I think that we can do a better job at helping people to get connected and to make a positive affect on their neighborhood. If someone actually WANTS to help, then we ought to treat them like VIP's! We all need as many people as possible in our community pitching in to help make our city an awesome place to live and visit. So here's what we're looking for:

  • Connections Concierge - these people would be the first responders to anyone who fills out a Connection Planner (indicating his/her areas of interest in social/volunteer opportunities). The Connections Concierge would make contact and provide personal suggestions for things they might be interested in checking out. In the future, the person can choose to contact their own personal concierge or ask a different one for other ways of getting involved in the community. These Connections Concierges would need to be "in-the-know" - they would sign up for newsletters, monitor calendars, stay tuned to social media, and even be in touch with local organizations that may have volunteer or resource needs. If you feel like you are a "connector" type person, then becoming a Connections Concierge just might be for you!
  • Project Concierge -  these people would connect with those who have an idea for helping the community and connect them with those with similar ideas. If they are willing to work together towards a collaborative project, the Project Concierge will be there to walk them through the process from idea to team building to fund raising to project implementation. The Project Concierge will connect them with the Catalyst Support Team and the Catalyst Talent Corps, and other resources throughout the Network to help facilitate their project. The Project Concierge won't do the project for them, rather he/she will support, empower, and equip them to initiate and realize their own idea to fruition. If you feel like you are a "coach" and "facilitator" type person, then becoming a Project Concierge just might be for you!
