Luckman Upcoming Concert...

This Saturday, November 12 the Luckman, at Cal State LA, will present the German electronic trio Brandt Brauer Frick, performing in Los Angeles for the first time since their Coachella 2011 debut! While devoted to the rich tones and timbres of orchestral instrumentation, the German trio's rousing tracks are rhythmically focused and rendered with the mechanical precision of four-to-the-floor club tracks. Brandt Brauer Frick majestically transcends audience expectations in their clockwork-esque attention to musical subtleties.

Please email tricia@gocatalyst.org to claim complimentary passes to this event! A limited amount are available! All tickets will be available for pick up at will call, with valid ID, the night of the event.  Deadline to email for the tickets is Friday 11/11 at noon.

Named "Best African Band" by Rolling Stone, Tinariwen was formed in 1979 by group members from Tessalit, an oasis in the Sahara Desert in northernMali. The group, whose name translates to "deserts," draws their style of music from rock as well as African and Middle Eastern music mixing acoustic and electric guitars, electric bass, drums, and gnarled picking patterns from West African lutes. The melodies are as straightforward as folk tunes that tug against harmonies in ways that reflect Tinariwen's nomadic lifestyle.
