Have you always wanted your own fruit tree? Well - now is your chance!
SoCal Harvest has 25 (fruit bearing) Valencia orange trees available. The trees stand between 4 and 5 feet, are housed in 15 gallon buckets and weigh about 100 lbs. Most of the trees have (green) oranges on them now!
The trees have been sprayed and tagged by the California Department of Food & Agriculture and are ready to be adopted and planted -

On Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Scottish Rite Event Center (newly named Ernest Borgnine Theatre) from 4pm-7pm on 855 Elm Street, Long Beach 90813, the second annual ‘Rock for Vets 2’ Benefit Concert will take place.
Please come and watch Bobby Kimball with Rick Latham (BB King, Edgar Winter & Juice Newton) and the All Stars, Jerry Salas (El Chicano), Manny Lagod (Don Ho), The Rock for Vets Music Therapy Bands (which are made up of Veterans of all ages and abilities), some local great artists and surprise guests as they perform live on stage.This benefit concert will provide additional musical equipment, coaching for the next year and the opportunity for more Veterans to benefit from the Music Therapy Program.

So what better way to support your community than to bring everyone together with food, cocktails, dancing, and karaoke! Well, Forbidden City Chinese and Sushi Restaurant has offered to hold a fun fundraiser event for Green Long Beach!
On May 17, any sales that are made between 8pm-11pm, Green Long Beach! will receive 20% of the proceeds which will go towards our planning of the 2011 Green Long Beach! Festival on June 11th! Karaoke starts at 9pm and will continue until 11pm, so start picking out your songs!

Event will occur at the Bixby Knolls Expo Center 4321 Atlantic Avenue on Friday, April 29th from 7-11 pm, the event will include casino favorites such as blackjack, craps and roulette, along with a Wheel of Fortune and opportunity drawings. Individual Ticket $40 or purchase a Couples Ticket $60.
