Dancing With Long Beach: The Pike

Have you been looking for something exciting to do? Are you searching for something totally unique and different? Are you ready to watch some amazing talent?  Then you have to be at the downtown Pike area near the Aquarium of the Pacific, Saturday, March 12th at 6:30PM. If you've never had the privilege of witnessing a spontaneous dance demonstration then you're in for a real treat! These public dance demonstrations take place all over Long Beach and in many interesting areas. This unparalleled and outstanding method of public dance display is not only entertaining but it also gives the dancers the opportunity to educate, expose and best of all, to bring the world of dance to the people of Long Beach who may have not otherwise been able to view this beautiful art form. On Saturday, the unbelievable dancers from ArchiTexture Dance Company  will take you on an adventure that will begin at the Ferris Wheel, then will dance up the stairs and on the bridge, over and across to Mai Tai Bar, down the stairs by Bubba Gump, across the street at the Aquarium fountain, then over to the pier. This is a site to see, so bring your kids, grab your friends and prepare yourself for an experience you'll be talking about long after it's over! For dancers to apply to participate or more information on Dancing with Long Beach, go to www.DancingWithLongBeach.com.

Dancing with Long Beach

Dancing with Long Beach” is a year long series of seemingly spontaneous monthly dance demonstrations in public spaces throughout the city of Long Beach to engage new audiences and to invite them to calendared dance performances in the city. The Catalyst Network of Communities has teamed up with DatuganDanceTheatre to form a collaborative team hoping to catalyze our city with the art and diversity of dance. Our goal is to expose and educate people about amazing opportunities for children and adults to learn more!

Be sure to come by for our first dance demonstration along 2nd Street in Belmont Shore this Saturday, December 18th, 2010 at about 2:00PM.

We're looking for choreographers and dancers to apply to participate in the series. Anyone interested can go to www.DancingWithLongBeach.com.
