Assembly of the Catalyst Network of Communities
Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 3pm – 6pm
Expo Center in Bixby Knolls
4321 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90807
Catalyst is calling on all individuals, organizations, and collaborative partners to join the Network and to gather together for our first annual Assembly.
The Assembly of the Catalyst Network of Communities is a unifying community experience that provides a tangible connection between individuals and organizations throughout our various relational networks while showcasing the impact that collaboration has on our city.
The idea is for everyone to bring everyone! Not just a representative - but bring your entire organization, network, family, friends, co-workers, associates, members, customers, and constituents. Imagine what would happen when we all just show up!
Help spread the word on Facebook!

Here are some of the experiences you can plan to participate in:
Community Swap
We're having a free community swap - you bring something to give, you take something to keep. It's sharing resources - literally! What will you bring?
Please bring your swap items to the Assembly!
HOPE Chest Drive
We're having a HOPE Chest Drive for the Villages of Cabrillo "Free Store" Event. This is a collaboration between The H.O.P.E. Foundation and HPSWAP that will be held in June 2011. The Free Store will be a private event for the family shelters in the Villages of Cabrillo.
Families will be able to come shop for clothing and household items at no cost. We will be serving food, baked goods, popcorn, snow cones and soft drinks.
Donated items needed are children's, women's, and men's clothing, shoes, dishes, pots and pans, linens, blankets/comforters, curtains, and other miscellaneous household items. Items the families collect will be placed in a "HOPE" Chest and saved for when they leave the family center. Monetary donations and gift cards are also welcome.
Please bring your donated items to the Assembly!

The Fit For A Queen Drive
The Teen Empowerment Collaborative, HPSWAP, the H.O.P.E. Foundation, and LA's Prom Closet have partnered together to collect your formal wear and accessories and donations to purchase prom tickets for high school seniors who can't afford to go. Please bring your donated items to the Assembly!

Performances
We'll also enjoy performances by local band Paper City, and featuring modern dance performers from Domino Affect Dance Company, and introducing fusion dancer Sina Muckenfuss from Malice Dreaming.
Green Long Beach! Presentation
We'll see what our collaborative of green, eco-conscious, sustainability-minded organizations and individuals have been up to this past year.
Green Long Beach! will showcase gardens, tree planting, updates on plans for the upcoming Festival, and plant giveaways!
Collaborative Project Exhibits
We'll have exhibits featuring collaborative projects involving two or more organizations working together to make a positive impact. Check out how organizations are sharing resources and sharing purpose through collaborative efforts!
Want to exhibit your collaborative project? Please contact Eric at eric.leocadio@gocatalyst.org.
Active Engagement with Other Collaborative Partners
So far, we've got over 40 collaborative partners in the Network and we keep growing! The Assembly will be an opportunity for you to touch bases with other individuals, groups, and organizations that share our common values. Make your introductions and begin the process of getting to know one another so that you can learn mutual interests and then explore ways of collaborating in the future!
New Catalyst Programs
We'll also invest some time sharing about some new Catalyst programs that will help create more of our relational infrastructure - meant to make it easier to share resources, collaborative, and stimulate our creative economy:
- Concierge Services
- Collaborative Project Toolkit
- Catalyst Talent Corps
- Catalyst Talent Services
- Catalyst Emerging Leaders Network
And also introducing the Long Beach Leadership Collaborative, currently in it's initial organizing stages.
